Emily Rodts, LPCC

Emily is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Ohio State University. She previously received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Indiana University.

Prior to becoming a counselor, Emily worked in several research positions with focuses on health literacy and causal factors contributing to pediatric suicide. These positions prepared her to concentrate on the importance of psycho-education and prevention efforts in mental health, both of which guide her practice today.

 

Emily values the counselor and client relationship and approaches counseling through working to understand the client’s values, worldviews, and motivations. She aims to create a safe and comfortable space in which to work on client wellness, goals, and opportunities for growth.

 

Emily uses several modalities of therapy to best meet the client’s needs including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and a strengths-based perspective. Emily values the importance of developing rapport with clients and providing support, empathy, and alignment to help client’s feel comfortable and understood throughout the therapeutic process.
