Lauren Borrell LPCC-S
is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Lauren earned her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toledo and Master of Education degree in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Kent State University.
Lauren has experience working in the mental health field with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has worked with college students in a university counseling clinic and with adolescents in the residential treatment setting.
Her most recent experience is that of a crisis therapist, implementing crisis interventions with children and families. She has prioritized cultural competency throughout her training and practice in the field of counseling and has worked with clients of diverse backgrounds.
Her therapeutic approach is client-centered with a focus on evidence-based modalities of solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy (including mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation), and trauma-based therapy. Lauren supports clients with concerns related (but not limited) to anxiety, depression, personality disorders, gender identity, trauma, relationships, and life transitions. She upholds ethical standards and serves clients with integrity and professionalism.
