I graduated in 1987 with a master’s degree specializing in mental health counseling from The Ohio State University. I work with individuals aged 18 years of age and older.
Deciding to seek help can be a brave first step in your journey to peace, success, and fulfillment. But it can also be scary.
My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where I can assist you in peeling back the cover to your story to find the resilience and skills you already possess, discover personal insights that promote your quest for psychological health, and teach you skills and strategies to help ensure your continued success.
In my own life I have found that even the most profound trauma can help you gain insight that elevates you to a better version of yourself.
Over the years I have been honored to work with people from all walks of life with a wide range of issues, including: depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse issues, ADHD, PTSD and Complex Trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem, OCD, dissociation, adjusting to life changes, grief/loss, codependency, LGBTQ+ issues, domestic violence, and career exploration.
My approach and orientation to treatment is centered in the evidence-based practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
In addition, I utilize concepts and skills from a wide range of psychodynamic therapies in the service of individualizing treatment to fit each client’s needs. I am also trained in the use of EMDR to assist in working through trauma issues.
