Carter Asnien, LPC
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University, where I honed my interest in understanding human behavior and mental health. Later, I pursued my Master’s in Counseling Education at Cleveland State University, further refining my skills and passion for helping others.
Now, as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I’m excited at the prospect of working with you!
I employ a flexible approach to counseling drawing from techniques rooted in narrative, gestalt, trauma-informed, and polygonal theory. I enjoy using these modalities as I find they can help clients utilize their unique stories and experiences with complimentary tools to live a life that works for them.
Regardless of what brings you to my office, you can expect to find a clinician who will meet you where you are at with a curious, humorous, and authentic approach. As a person consistently existing somewhere in what I view to be “uncharted territory” as a queer, disabled, emerging adult, I have enjoyed exploring client’s intersecting identities with them to promote feeling heard and respected in our time together.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy rock climbing, playing video games, and spending time with my cat and partner. I’m also an avid fan of movies and TV shows, which fuel my creative and eccentric personality. My pronouns are he/him/his.
