Katelyn Neighbarger, CT

Katelyn Neighbarger, (she/her) is a counselor trainee with a bachelor’s in psychology from Franklin University. She graduated from Capital University with a master’s in clinical mental health counseling and is currently awaiting to take her license exam.


She worked as a restaurant and banquet server for the past 16 years before pursuing a career in mental health. During this time, she learned interpersonal skills and strengthened her resolve to help people more significantly.


Katelyn’s counseling approach uniquely blends person-centered and solution-focused therapeutic modalities. She incorporates feminist theory, strengths-based, and cognitive behavior therapy into her practice. This diverse approach allows her to walk alongside her clients, witnessing their growth and resilience as they navigate their challenges.


She firmly believes in creating a solid rapport with clients so they feel safe, comfortable, and heard. Katelyn is a direct and blunt counselor who will challenge you on your journey. She has learned that humor, compassion, and authenticity are the best ways to do this. Katelyn works with clients 18 to 80 years old, is interested in working with OCD clients, and is open to all diagnoses.
 

In her spare time, Katelyn loves to read, watch TV and movies, do yoga, and color. She also loves to spend time with her siblings, friends, and parents.
